Over the half-term break, while the College was free of pupils, builders and our maintenance team were hard at work behind the scenes completing a number of jobs and projects on our site.
Work included:
- Completion of the wood cladding along the Astroturf wall which is now fondly known as the Great Wall of Shiplake
- Painting of Everett stairway, day room and Everett 4 classroom
- Completion of the Pavillion changing rooms to include a sink/vanity unit
- A new door installed at the back of Burr House which is access controlled
- Renovation of Goodwin 8 classroom
- Further bag shelving installed in the Stableyard
- Replacement flooring on 2nd floor Skipwith
- Numerous roofing work, including on parts of Skipwith House and also to Welsh, Burr, and Bevan
- A complete strip out of Bevan 3/4/5 of services and furniture with work continuing until end of term
- New edging to the Pontoon down by the river
- Renovation of catering changing area in Skipwith.
Additionally, there have been lots of health and safety checks completed including electrical works and legionella testing. The fire alarms have also been tested and our lifts, Lecture Theatre seating service, and landlord gas safety have all been checked. All areas have undergone deep cleaning and out on the grounds, hedges have been cut and trimmed while our pitches have been sanded, seeded, and mowed in preparation for the upcoming term.
