Engaged and Enriched!
Academic

In today’s Whole School Assembly, Monday 13 January, we heard from Deputy Head (Academic) Mr Jones and Assistant Head (Learning and Enrichment) Mr Shaw who announced the names of those who have excelled academically.

Just before the Christmas break, all our pupils received their Progress Review Two. At this stage of the year, the most important aspect of the report is the Engagement with Learning scores which is essentially pupils’ academic effort.

This category has nothing to do with grades or academic potential and every single pupil is capable of putting in the effort to score highly in this category. Mr Jones had the pleasure in announcing the names of the pupils in each year with the highest scores and all were asked to stand to receive our applause.

Following this, Mr Shaw announced the winners of the previous half-term's enrichment passport award.  The enrichment passport lies within the Shiplake Seven framework, which is a teaching and learning framework designed to foster and develop key interpersonal qualities in our young people. The framework is integrated across the academic and co-curriculum, allowing the seven qualities to be nurtured inside and outside the classroom. Pupils are encouraged to use these skills in their lessons and activities, with staff awarding 'excellence slips' in recognition of notable achievements or good behaviour.

Congratulations to the following pupils:
