Girls’ 1st XI vs Salesian College
On Tuesday25 February, our girls’ 1st team played Salesian in their Football Night Lights match. From the first whistle, we played with determination as a team and dominated the game throughout the match. In the first half, our defence (S Pendlebury, B Sauboua, and S Bhambra) worked very hard and well at keeping the ball in their half and gave Salesian very little chances to attack. Our midfielders and strikers played cohesively and skilfully, resulting in several shots from T Gilliard, T Nicholson, and A Godfrey who scored two amazing goals. In the second half, we maintained the same energy and drive from the first half, with some good balls through from F Fisher and E Fisher which led to many more shots from M Spooner, A Holden, A O’Shea, M Mundy and several others. Another two great goals from A Godfrey and A O’Shea put Shiplake 4-1 up to secure the win. We played very well both in defence and in attack, resulting in a well-deserved win that gets us ready for our next match against Cranford. Player of the match was T Gilliard for her determination. Players’ Player was M Mundy as she started many attacks and defended well. Coach’s Players went to A O'Shea and A Godfrey.

On Thursday 27 February, the girls’ 1st XI took on Cranford House. In the first half, we played strongly, despite two unlucky goals, with lots of attacks and many shots from A Godfrey, A O’Shea and T Nicholson. Our defence of M Mundy, S Pendlebury, O Clarke and E Fisher played well, making it hard for Cranford to attack. After two great shots from A Godfrey and A O’Shea, their keeper and defence were put under pressure, resulting in a goal for Shiplake. In the second half, we kept playing with determination resulting in many more shots. Our defence worked very hard; however, we unfortunately gave away a penalty resulting in the final score of 3-1. Our keeper M Spooner made some good saves, before swapping with R Clayton who also made some iconic saves. Netball
1st VII vs Holyport College
Our 1st VII team secured a strong 40-22 victory with excellent communication and teamwork throughout the court. From the first whistle, we maintained a high tempo, moved the ball effectively, and capitalized on scoring opportunities. Defensively, we applied consistent pressure, forcing turnovers and limiting the opposition’s chances. The midcourt worked seamlessly to transition play. Fantastic effort from T Gillard who received Opponents' Player, A O'Shea for Players’ Player and M Mundy for Coach’s Player.

2nd VII vs Reading Blue Coat School
Last week, the 2nd team played Reading Blue Coat’s 2nd team. We started off playing well and although there was a slippery court, we were able to keep playing efficiently. There was some amazing mid court play from F Dix making it possible for the ball to make its way down to our side of the court. These amazing mid court skills led us to score multiple goals through A Flower and P Hart. Our defenders also kept their opponents out of the circle (L Dix and A Richardson) leading us to win 16-14; it was a very close game! Player of the Match was A Flower, Coach’s Player was F Dix, and Players’ Player was B Broad.
