Creating an environment that nurtures pupil mental health and wellbeing is a key priority for us at Shiplake. To help us do this, we have invested in partnering with The Wellbeing Hub, developed by child and adolescent mental health and wellbeing experts, Teen Tips.
Teen Tips provide a proactive approach to mental health and wellbeing and work to prevent mental ill-health in young people. They believe in early intervention and their proactive approach is achieved by providing evidence-based support for parents, carers, and school communities. They draw on the latest research from psychotherapy, psychology and neuroscience, along with their Founder, Alicia Drummond, and her experience of working as an adolescent therapist.
Their training and resources are delivered through The Wellbeing Hub – a live and interactive platform that is accessible to all who look after children and young people. On The Wellbeing Hub, a team of professionals deliver new content on a weekly basis which makes sure that pupils, staff, and parents have what they need. Each month, resources are shared on a theme which in the past have included social media and mental health, friendships and relationships, addiction, boundaries, and many more.
Content is delivered through a variety of ways including webinars, blogs, podcasts, and articles. For staff, they will feel confident in their pastoral role while parents and carers will feel supported and encouraged. And for our pupils, there is practical advice for children and young people to build their own emotional resilience.
The Wellbeing Hub is here to help everyone in their journey, providing the latest research and tools to create a happy home life, reduce drama, encourage children to build independence and resilience, and enable them to thrive.
As a Shiplake parent, you are entitled to free access, and we highly recommend taking the opportunity to register and start using these resources. To access, please follow the Shiplake specific link that can be found in our Weekly Bulletin.
