On behalf of Mr Tom Crisford and the Shiplake College Boat Club, we are delighted to invite all Shiplake parents, Old Vikings and friends of the College to a picnic lunch at Henley Royal Regatta on Wednesday 2 July. The picnic will be located in the Henley Cricket Club car park with the Shiplake marquee easily identifying our position.
The event will take place during the Regatta lunch break at 12.30pm and will include a buffet style lunch. Tickets are priced at £25 per person, or £20 for Under 18s. In addition to the lunch, guests will be provided with a glass of sparkly, Pimm’s and soft drinks.
We will also be hosting an afternoon tea during the interval at approximately 4.00pm and we would be very grateful if you could contribute a cake. There will of course be hot drinks. You are welcome to leave any cakes and drinks before racing starts in the Shiplake marquee, which will already be in position.
At this stage we cannot confirm what time the 1st VIII will be racing as the timetable will not be published until the week commencing Monday 30 June. However, we hope that we will be able to toast the crew at some stage during the day. Much of this will depend on the time they race and the progress they make on the day.
We hope that the picnic will be a fitting way to celebrate the achievements of all our crews this season and, in particular, be a way of showing our support to the 1st VIII competing at this prestigious regatta.
