Criminology and Sociology Sixth Form students enjoyed a day out in London on Monday (23 May) visiting the Old Bailey in the morning, where they sat in on several cases including some murder trials.
After lunch, at the South Bank, they spent the afternoon in the London Dungeon and made their way back to Shiplake via the underground and train. Thirty-two students were accompanied by teachers: Ms Kate Magee, Mr Kade Heaney and Mr Jamie Wheeler.
Sociology A Level student, Hannah said: "I loved going to the Old Bailey, I found it so interesting. But the best part of the trip was going to the London Dungeon. We all had the best time."
Criminology Year 12 student, Berry said: "We sat in on some good cases at the Old Bailey. We had a case that was a serious stabbing, which was really interesting. The London Dungeon was fun and overall, it was a good day out."
Ms Kate Magee, said: "The Old Bailey is a fascinating place for students. The biggest criminal cases in the land are held there. So, it's a good opportunity for them to see criminology and sociology in action, outside of the classroom. The London Dungeon is scary but fun. Taking the train was a challenge, but fun in a way."
