The Whole School gathered on Skipwith Lawn on the last day of half-term for a Service of Thanksgiving to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen.
Revd Briggs welcomed the staff and pupils to the ceremony which included prayers, hymns, readings, an address and ended with everyone singing the National Anthem, accompanied by the brass band. It was a very special occasion, helped by it being a warm and sunny morning.
One of the readings was by Shiplake's Poet Laureate, Matthew Perry, who read out A Jubilee Poem, which you can also watch below spoken by Matthew and Lower School friends.
We wish all Shiplake families a good Jubilee weekend and hope you all enjoy the celebrations.
