It has been another wonderful year of art with many of our pupils’ work being displayed on the coveted Golden Easel in the Skipwith entrance hall each week. From pencil and paint drawings to installations and clay work, there has been such a breadth of talent on display this year!
Head of Art, Miss Keli Jiggens, said:
‘The Golden Easel is a brilliant way of showcasing the amazing artwork that is produced at Shiplake. All the pupils this year have really impressed us with the quality of their work, and it has been wonderful to have such a range of year groups and such a range of materials on show for everyone to see.
The number of comments that we get from pupils and staff about the artwork really makes a difference. In addition to being put on the easel, every pupil’s work is created into a postcard and sent home for friends and family to also celebrate their achievements. Two other schools have now got their very own Golden Easel award, so the trend is catching. The department is already looking forward to seeing what is to come next year!’
